We took a trip to the Painted hills and decided to stay in Mitchell. Population 163. The town only has 2 motels so book your room far in advance. This motel is located across from downtown Mitchell and offers a nice view of the whole town. The other motel is located right on the downtown strip which is 2 or 3 blocks long. We stayed in room 3 which has 2 beds. One in the front room along with a TV, microwave and table and the other bed is located in the bedroom. Quiet and clean and the manager is a really nice lady who was super helpful and offered us a cooler for our perishables. Total cost was $105 for one night.
Prices are high for what you get. To close to Portland I guess.
Actually very charming, for being in the middle of nowhere, out of gas at 4 in the morning.
Clean and affordable. We had a wonderful stay close to The Painted Hills.
Stayed here during the labor day weekend, and was amazed at the quality of rooms and quiet location.
